    -First we need to look at the tuning pegs found at the top of the guitar and how these work. The guitar is usually put into standard tuning, meaning that the strings from top to bottom are tuned to an E A D G B and E. this is called "standard" tuning. there are many different forms of tuning, but this is the most common.
 
 
   -Running down the neck of the guitar are the strings. Going down the neck of the guitar, you'll find what are called frets. A guitar usually has about 15 frets, but this varies on the type of the guitar, some have many more. Each fret is responsible for playing a different note. And when played together, forms what is called a chord.
